Stacking your wood up and letting the air flow around the wood is of course the oldest and still very popular today but if you want to accelerate the drying process you could use solar dehumidification and high heat drying such as with a kiln.
Drying lumber with dehumidifier.
The heat will be enough to dry the lumber but you also can put a small dehumidifier in the kiln to speed the process.
This value of 7 0 is higher than the maximum daily moisture loss of 5 8 found in other literature denig and others 2000.
The conventional wisdom is you cannot use a home dehumidifier to dry wood especially with acidic woods such as oak that will corrode the coils.
Home dehumidifiers can work but they are designed for operation to about 45 50 rh which is not low enough for 6 lumber.
Drying wood in your own kiln or wood dryer is a great way of getting speeding up th.
There are a few different ways of drying wood.
For example if you dry 7 500bf of fast drying pine you d select the 8mbf chamber with the ht18 dehumidifier while if you dry 9 500bf of slower drying oak you d use the 10mbf chamber with the ht8 dehumidifier.
This corresponded to a daily moisture loss of 7 0 for 4 4 black cherry lumber.
All of these are methods that work when drying wood.
